AG1 Pro puts 5 g of creatine in a 20 g travel pack

AG1 says AG1 Pro adds creatine, Ca-HMB, and zinc carnosine to its Next Gen formula at clinically effective doses. Against the research, the 5 g of creatine holds up. The 1.5 g of Ca-HMB and the 75 mg of zinc carnosine have thinner support at those amounts.

The 5 g of creatine is the reason to buy AG1 Pro

Bottom line

Of the three added actives, the 5 g of creatine monohydrate (Creavitalis) is the one where the dose and the research clearly line up, as a full maintenance amount of the best-studied creatine form. AG1 Japan English product page for AG1 Pro ISSN position stand on creatine safety and efficacy (2017) The 1.5 g of Ca-HMB is half the 3 g a day most HMB studies used, and the 75 mg of zinc carnosine complex matches one five-day study in 10 people taking an NSAID. AG1's Japan page says Pro is built entirely on the Next Gen formula and adds those three at "clinically effective doses," plus triphala and ginger. The amounts here are the Japan English panel as read on November 6, 2026, and a US pouch could print different ones. The June 8, 2026 announcement set two sale dates

Yahoo Finance labels the June 8, 2026 text a paid press release from PR Newswire. The announcement says AG1 Pro would go on sale at drinkag1.com to AG1 members from June 11 and to everyone from June 16. It says the added ingredients come in "amounts supported by peer-reviewed studies" and names Creavitalis creatine monohydrate at 5 g. Calcium-HMB and zinc carnosine are named in that sentence without grams or milligrams. AG1 Pro launch announcement on Yahoo Finance (PR Newswire, June 8, 2026)

Kat Cole, AG1's chief executive, is quoted saying over 30% of AG1 customers were already stacking creatine. That's AG1's own figure, given by its CEO in a paid release. AG1 Pro launch announcement on Yahoo Finance (PR Newswire, June 8, 2026)

The announcement and the Japan page both list AG1 Pro as NSF Certified for Sport, and the Japan page says each batch is tested and found free of more than 280 banned substances. FDA's supplement Q&A says the agency does not approve a dietary supplement before it is sold. Structure/function claims and general well-being claims are not FDA-approved, and they can go on a label without an FDA review. 5 g is the top of the ISSN maintenance range of 3 to 5 g per day

Once stores are full, the 2017 ISSN creatine stand says 3 to 5 g per day generally maintains them. Some studies indicate larger athletes may need as much as 5 to 10 g per day. ISSN position stand on creatine safety and efficacy (2017)The Japan panel's 5 g creatine monohydrate (Creavitalis) sits at the top of that 3 to 5 g range, so one pack carries a full maintenance amount by the stand's numbers. AG1 Japan English product page for AG1 Pro

The same stand repeats the society's earlier conclusion that creatine monohydrate is the most effective supplement athletes can take to raise high-intensity exercise capacity and build lean mass in training, and calls monohydrate the most studied creatine form. ISSN position stand on creatine safety and efficacy (2017)This is the line where AG1's clinically effective dose claim holds up.

By weight, creatine is a quarter of the 20 g pack. The rest is the other labeled lines and the blends. AG1 Japan English product page for AG1 Pro For a plain tub, the guide to creatine monohydrate, gummies, and other forms compares the forms, and the clinical-dose versus label-dose guide covers how a label amount lines up with a studied dose.

1.5 g of Ca-HMB is half the 3 g a day most HMB studies used

HMB (beta-hydroxy-beta-methylbutyrate) is a compound the body makes from the amino acid leucine. ISSN position stand on HMB (published December 19, 2024) AG1's Japan page says the 1.5 g of Ca-HMB limits muscle breakdown and helps maintain lean body mass. AG1 Japan English product page for AG1 Pro

The ISSN stand on HMB, published December 19, 2024, says a 3 g dose of HMB pushed muscle protein synthesis in human muscle close to its maximum, with similar results for calcium HMB and the free-acid form in separate studies. It notes that most investigations to date used 3 g a day, and describes one study where 1.5 g a day, taken for two weeks before muscle-damaging exercise, still helped functional recovery. ISSN position stand on HMB (published December 19, 2024)

AG1 Pro's 1.5 g of Ca-HMB is half that 3 g figure and the bottom of the 1.5 to 6 g per day range HMB has been studied at. AG1 Japan English product page for AG1 Pro ISSN position stand on HMB (published December 19, 2024) On safety, the stand calls 1.5 to 3 g per day safe for at least one year and reports no adverse effects from short-term doses up to 6 g per day for 8 weeks. On performance, it says HMB may raise strength and power in untrained people, while benefits in trained athletes are mixed and grow in studies longer than 6 weeks. ISSN position stand on HMB (published December 19, 2024)

Calling 1.5 g a clinically effective dose leans on that one low-dose recovery study more than on the 3 g a day most of the research used.

75 mg of zinc carnosine matches the daily amount in one 10-person study

Zinc appears on two lines: the 75 mg zinc carnosine complex, and 20 mg of elemental zinc (182% DV) from zinc carnosine and zinc citrate. Adding the two counts the zinc carnosine twice. AG1's Japan page says the 75 mg supports gut barrier integrity. AG1 Japan English product page for AG1 Pro

The 37.5 mg twice-daily schedule comes from a 2007 randomized crossover in the journal Gut, in which 10 healthy volunteers took indomethacin, an NSAID painkiller, at 50 mg three times a day for five days, once alongside zinc carnosine at 37.5 mg twice daily and once alongside placebo. Mahmood and colleagues, zinc carnosine gut study abstract (Gut, 2007) MedlinePlus drug information on indomethacin

On placebo, gut permeability rose threefold over the five days. With zinc carnosine, the abstract reports no significant rise. The authors concluded that zinc carnosine, at concentrations they expected in the gut, stabilized the gut lining, and said more studies were warranted. Mahmood and colleagues, zinc carnosine gut study abstract (Gut, 2007)

One pack carries the same 75 mg daily total, so the dose lines up. The evidence is thin for this use: one five-day test in 10 volunteers whose guts were being stressed with an NSAID, which says little about a daily greens drink in people not taking one. The abstract's competing-interests note says extended health claims for zinc carnosine were under FDA consideration at the time, and that one author (listed as RJP) had given evidence at that hearing. Mahmood and colleagues, zinc carnosine gut study abstract (Gut, 2007)

Two blends print only totals: 7.4 g and 1.5 g

Muscle and Gut Strength Blend is the header over the weighed lines in the table, plus triphala fruit powder at 250 mg and ginger root powder at 250 mg. Creatine has its own gram line under that header. AG1 Japan English product page for AG1 Pro

Active Superfood and Prebiotic Complex is 7.4 g. Daily Phytonutrient Complex is 1.5 g, a plant blend separate from the 1.5 g Ca-HMB line. Both complexes name their ingredients and print only the blend total. The same panel lists the Dairy-Free Probiotic Blend at 37 mg, marked 10 billion viable cells. Other ingredients are natural flavors, citric acid, and stevia leaf extract, plus silica. The panel says it contains soy. How to read a blend total is covered in why a proprietary blend is a red flag. AG1 Japan English product page for AG1 Pro

The same panel lists 50 calories, 8 g carbohydrate, 2 g fiber, and 2 g protein in that serving. Calcium is its own line, 240 mg as calcium citrate, 18% DV. AG1 Japan English product page for AG1 Pro

A plain creatine tub covers the creatine line on its own

Someone who only wants the creatine can buy creatine monohydrate and skip the greens. The travel pack adds the HMB and zinc carnosine lines, the blends, the vitamin lines, and AG1's testing claims on top. The older AG1 price question is in the AG1 monthly price and label piece. Cheaper greens powders are ranked in lower-cost AG1 alternatives.

Price is the open question. AG1's US offer page did not show a readable price or facts panel on November 6, 2026, so the useful comparison is the Pro price against a greens powder plus a plain creatine tub. Current greens scores are on the greens powder rankings.
